Paper Crafting

Yes, that's what I'm doing lately..
I started paper crafting when I was searching for my Sunday School kids' Easter activity, and then I kinda become addicted to it.. :p
So, these are some of them that I've done until now..

Those two are options for Easter activity, but I'm still searching for the most suitable paper craft for the kids, considering the time limit and difficulty level..

And these couple bear is Valentine edition.. hehe (anyway, Happy Valentine! :))
Speaking of Valentine, I want to share a nice cover song from a cute little Youtuber rapper named Matty..

Little Things - One Direction (Cover by MattyBRaps)

I still remember that moment in January
You were… sent down from heaven
Me and your brothers nearly
Flipped the kitchen table over
The moment you made it home
And how much we all adored you
Couldn’t leave you alone
And it’s funny how much you teach us
As we’re watching you grow
Learning how to treat a lady
I just want you to know
That you’re an angel… glory… more than my shooting star
And I wouldn’t change a freckle I love you for who you are

I won’t let these little things out my mouth
Cause if I do it’s you, it’s you they add up to
and I’m in love with you and all your little things

This I promise
Promise you’ll always be
Someone that I thinks important
Special lady indeed
And let nothing come between us
Protect what is you and me
And tell you that I love you loud
Enough for the world to see
Though… no perfect brother
Try not to let you down
And what’s mine is your forever just hope I can make you proud
You’re an angel… glory… more than my shooting star
And I wouldn’t change a freckle I love you for who you are

I won’t let these little things out my mouth
Cause if I do it’s you, it’s you they add up to
and I’m in love with you and all your little things x2

Matty dedicated this song to his Down Syndrome sister, Sarah..
I really like the lyrics modification..
He's absolutely gonna be a great man..

As (some of) you know, I like this cartoon character, therefore I made this!
I also did some photo shoots for the characters..

SpongeBob and Gary the Snail (master and pet)

SpongeBob, Squidward Quincy Tentacles (SpongeBob's neighbor and co-worker at Krusty Krab), and Patrick

SpongeBob, Captain Eugene Harold "Armor Abs" Krabs (the owner of Krusty Krab), and Squidward

Sheldon James Plankton Jr and Mr. Krabs (enemy for lifetime)

Thanks for visiting my blog! God bless :)

2012 Flashback

Hi all..
Here I am.. Back from the real to virtual world again.. :p
I feel bored with my catchy Sponge Bob background, so I change it to quite catchy fruity background.. Hehe..
This time, as always, I'm taking a moment to tell you my brief flashback of 2012..
So, let's start...

I've spent about half year to finish my research and thesis "Extraction and Characterization of Bromelain from Fruit, Core, Peel, and Crown of Palembang Pineapple"..
In some occasions, it turned my life upside down..
But I REALLY AM grateful for my campus fellowship (His Generation community) and my church fellowship (GAB Youth community)  that had always strengthen my faith.. Thanks guys :)

BIOTECHNOLOGY GRADUATES OF 2012. Can you locate me? :)

Dr. Diana E. Waturangi, M.Si (dean of Biotechnology Faculty); Dr. Noryawati Mulyono, S.Si (my thesis advisor); me; my mom;
Prof. Dr. Ir. Maggy T. Suhartono (my thesis co-advisor).
Big thanks to Mrs. Noryawaty and Mrs. Maggy for all the help, advice, and encouragement :)

Tante Hanny (my mom's friend who also watched my graduation); cici Angel (my cousin who also graduated as Master of Psychology); me; my dearest mom :)

Me; Eli (one of my research teammate. Thank you for all the help and support, mate ;));
Anne (thanks to Anne and her mom who done my hair and make-up :)); Audi (my fashionable friend ;))

Me and Ochie (my other research teammate).
Thank you also for the help and support, mate ;)

After graduated at the end of July, I had a chance to fulfill the 6th point of my 2012 resolution with help from one of my docent, but in the middle of the process I canceled it because of financial problem..
Didn't give up just like that, I'm looking for other scholarship opportunity until I found an opportunity that requires two years of working experience in related field..
On one side I want to search for another scholarship that doesn't need any requirements but on the other side I want to feel the world of work..
Driven by many advise from people around me, I'm starting to find a job while some of my friends had already got their job..
I was so determined for it and pray to God that I could find one before Christmas..

While waiting for job interview, I got a chance to involve as Sunday School teacher..
It had been a long time since I actively involved in Sunday School service in my old church..
I am absolutely grateful for this opportunity..
It really burst out my passion for children..

Yes. There's so much excited energy there. Until now. Thanks Dad.
I love all my Sunday School children :))
(the kids photo: Soon!)

On September 27 and 28, I join my church retreat..
I enjoyed this retreat but to be honest, I didn't get something special from it..
However, I knew more about spiritual life and I learn to serve Him not only because of my passion for kids but also because of my love for Him..

Retreat of Gereja Allah Baik 2012
(three small boys that sit at the front with red jacket, white jacket, and white T-shirt are three of my Sunday School kids :))

On the 10th of November, mom and dad celebrated their 25th wedding at our house..
At that time, I shared a testimony until I sobbed.. It was a memorable one..

(Photo: Soon!)

At the beginning of December I got a job with position that I want..
But unfortunately, it didn't last long..
Sorry, I couldn't tell more about it here because of some reasons..
I did learn so much from it, especially about my personal relationship with Him..
From that short experience, I just felt that He had already been sooo good to me even though I (again) didn't prioritizing Him throughout those periods of time..
I felt guilty but, I didn't want to drag myself through each day in guilty like what I've did before..
I've confessed it in my prayer and that's it..
I only believe that He already forgives me, doesn't remember even a bit about it, and I continue to have faith that He has already provided me a better one.. Yes!

On 25th of December, I celebrated Christmas with my mom and dad's family.. :)
It's always nice to gather with whole family, having a fellowship, knowing the latest news about each others, and every family got some Christmas presents..

My mom; dearest brother (Jan); me; my dad

On December 28, me and my family visit Granny's grave..
It was the first time for me after she passed away..
Well, I rarely miss her.. But my brain always recall her every time I hear, sing, or see the lyrics of some nursery rhymes like "Humpty Dumpty", "Baa Baa Black Sheep", "Hickory Dickory Dock", "Are You Sleeping?" or some folklore like "Thumbelina" or "Goldilocks and The Three Bears"..

@ Grandpa's & Granny's grave

Some of my 2012 resolution (1st, 2nd, 3rd point) are half done but the other's not yet..
Looking at those resolution (and suddenly it reminds me of one of my cousin's talking), I'm starting to think that some people would look at me as an idealist person..
But for me, it's just me being optimistic..
I wouldn't feel so disappoint if I couldn't fulfill all my targets because, in my opinion, if I couldn't fulfill it then there's gonna be something new that I could learn from..
And for this year, I will keep up with those resolutions..

This Casting Crown's song steady my heart..
I hope it steady yours, too.. :)

Love and pray,

What Are Jc's Latest News?

Dear all readers,,
sorry for not updating my blog for almost one month..
Hehe..
The thing is I'm concentrating to the busiest semester ever..
Okay I'm being to much... XP
Actually, I still enjoy this fourth semester even though I already got heavy flu because of my low body immunity.. -,-"

So far, I have survived with:
- stay up until at least 1 AM and go to campus mostly at 6.15 AM from Monday to Saturday
- two DNA Technology lab's report ("Plasmid Isolation and Verification" & "Transformation of pGLO and pGFPuv in E. coli")
- two Food Technology lab's report ("Microbial Lava Lamp" & "Mayonnaise")
PS. This is the first time I make mayonnaise by my own hands.. Wow! So grateful for this opportunity.. :)
- Food Technology's assignment about product development of Lobi-lobi fruit (Flacourtia inermis)
- one Functional Food's assignment
- all committees' and clubs' (in my faculty) final report and Surat Keputusan

And above all, my Family Altar is still running every night,
I'm doing good in all my Sunday School's activity (the coaching, the class, etc),
and my campus fellowship is going well every Friday..
I even still have time for Sunday School Easter and Good Friday service's poster design..
For me, it's nothing but a MIRACLE..
Yup! I'm nothing without Daddy JC..

I also already decided not to continue my Student Council's membership..
Nevertheless, I'm very grateful for this valuable opportunity..
I was still the first year's student and I got accepted in secretary position..
One more chance to learn more..
One more chance to get to know new person..
One more chance to expand my connection..
One more chance to be a better organizer..
I could be a crazy person if I wasn't grateful~~
I even can describe my closest partner as this:
A patient-learn-to-be-stricter chairman (well done! :)), critical vice chairman, wise treasurer, and organized secretary..
I do learn few things from each of them..

For now, I prefer to be the member of regular committees while concentrating to this semester's classes, which means raising my GPA.. (Amen!)
Next plan is to fulfill my 4th point of this year's resolution.. (check this post)
Wish me all the best ;)
To be honest, I outrageously want to fulfill this one..
At least I could feel better by getting salary from my own sweat (precisely, stop being so dependent on my parent)..

Very very latest news from me:
- I'm now officially a member of LDK BPM dan Senat FTb 2010-2011's (a coaching for the next members of my faculty Student Council) committee..
- I did Outbond 2010 (my faculty's every year event for the new comers) committee's interview two days ago..
(Dad, You know what I want, but I'm sure You'll give what I need.. Whatever the result, I just know it's the best for me.. :))
- I just finished the third report of Food Technology lab's report and I'm still in process of checking Everest and  Elbow talkshow's final report..
- Today is my turn to play keyboard for the Sunday School service.. Hope it will be a blessing for all... Amen!!
- I also just received my first award from Hana Talita at Sarsaparilla (thx Hana!^^)

Flavorful Life (Couldn't Wish for More)

I just feel like I want to pour this out in form of a composition..
All things that happened yesterday definitely make my life look like a flavorful candy..

In the morning, I woke up and prepared my self ready to the morning service..
I still remember the praise after sermon sang by GPIB Marturia's vocal group..
Their song melody is so The BeeGees and it was so nice to be listened.. X)
After the service, we (me and my parents) continued to our Sunday School b'day celebration..
I was so excited to sing at the opening service..
I just love celebration~~
At games time, I and my teaching partner watched over Balap Mobil (racing car) stand..
A game for kid under 5 years old.. Easy game~~
I was so enjoying every moment at the celebration before I must go to the Sunday School teacher's coaching and do the story telling..
My heart felt so calm and happy at the same time..
With these things around me, how could not?!

  • A Happy Birthday song in Indonesian version echoing in the room with sounds of claping hands..
  • A lovely blueberry birthday cake made by one of our Sunday School teacher..

  • The Racing Car game~~ X)
  • Cupcake made by the same person.. :))

  • Fun time with all Sunday School's teacher.. :))

And the coaching..
I got the 6th turn to come forward..
Every performance was commented and marked..
I was so nervous and I got more nervous when I realized that there's something wrong with my preparation based on all comments of the other previous performances..
I kept thinking what I should do with it..
Then at the last minute I decided to change my story telling model, but it was a wrong (very wrong) decision..
I should stick to the plan and believe with my own preparation.. (I did prepare well for this~)
The result was I suddenly forgot the plot in the middle of the story.. -,-"
Shame, sad, and also disappoint with my self~~
I try not to care about this but it is haunting me 'til now..
Yeah, our brain is programmed not to forget both pleasant and unpleasant moment in our life..
I convince my self that everything happens for a reason, including this..
That I must proud for volunteering my self to do the story telling..
At least I had courage to try it..

Now let's move to other topic..
Do you see the picture above the birthday cake and above the cupcake??
I just knew today from a TV program that it is called edible photo/edible image..
That pictures are printed in an icing sheet!!
Its ink made by foods coloring.. (Don't you think it's kinda cool?! Come and check this site..)
So, interested to buy??
There's a cake shop located in Pondok Kelapa Dua (Depok) named Dapur Pochopa..
Interested to try making an edible photo??
Here's the step..

Just like the song.. There's always a rainbow after the hard rain. Though it looks so small, it's still called RAINBOW ~ Jessie
God bless us~~ :))

What A Day

So...
Yesterday we absolutely have no time to buy the Harvest's cake like I told in Celebrate Love in The Season of Giving 's post..
My mom woke me up at 5.30 AM while I just slept for about 2 hours..
We prepared our self to go to one of my uncle's house in Muara Karang..
We were chasing time so we could get to Gunung Sahari at 2 PM for my Sunday School teacher's coaching (as usually) without losing time with our big family.. (It's xin jia, remember?)
At 7 AM we arrived at his house, said "gong xi fa cai..", did very little talk, and then leaved..
Questioning??
It was because he must went to the morning service at 8 AM..

Our next destination was my eldest aunt's house in Tanggerang..
All my other uncle and aunt would gather there..
When we got there, my aunt, my cousin, my niece and nephews were all ready go to church..
After a few amiable words, they leaved and we waited at her house..
As I waited, I used their computer just for some minutes coz my eyes really couldn't cooperate..
Their nice maid made me two slice of toast bread with Ceres on both of it.. (Thanks to Mbak Wit :))
I hadn't eat anything for breakfast since that morning..
Was desperately hungry and tired~~
And guess what??
I slept on their comfy couches for 3 hours, waiting for the other relatives came there.. -,-"

It was already 12 PM when I woke up..
They already got back from church but there was just one family coming.. (It supposed to be 5 families..)
So the time kept running until it reached 1 PM..
That means I had to go to the next place~~
I met one more family before I went..
Where were the rest??
Ckckck...

On my way to Gunung Sahari, the traffic jam said "Hello" to me and it caused me 30 minutes late.. (I had thought to not join it because I was so late..)
That day coaching material was "Story Telling Workshop"..
The speaker was from GKI Gunung Sahari itself named Andreas Novi..
He is a Sunday School teacher of the 5th grade..
I don't know the right word to describe his personality..
All I can tell you is that day he wore red long-sleeved  tight T-shirt with pink tape under the neck and a pair of red strappy shoes..
One more thing, he got red highlighted hair too..
Beside the Sunday School, he is a Salsa dance teacher and radio announcer at Radio Pelita Kasih..
His regular job? He works at tax office..
What a combination~~
Well, he's about 20s or 30s.. (I guess~ I'm not good at guessing someone's age.. -,-")
He taught us about kind of voices and face mimics in story telling..
You know, angry voices, sad voices, happy voices, the old man voices, a child voices, etc..
Oh, he also told us that he had experienced a movie casting..
Okay... I could see that from the start..
I just felt like joining an acting school~~ XD
For next week, I must come forward to perform a story telling..
I think I already get used to show up in front of the other coaching participants..
Wish me luck then! :))

Wait, it's not over yet..
After the coaching, I moved on to the evening service at my church in Cipinang..
(The gasoline was very wasted~~)
Fortunately, the coaching (more precisely, "the acting school") was so refreshing..
The service finished at approximately 6.30 PM..
I really wanted to go home, but I couldn't...
I have to wait my mom and dad did the choir practice..
Even more, I have my dinner at the church.. (It was a full bowl of meatballs made by one of the choir's member.. Thanks to Tante Kim :))
Nearly 8 PM (finally) I arrived home..
I was very tired but I still have one thing to do..
Yes, the family altar...
We did it right away before we really got sleepy..
Afterward...
I felt refresh again and I found myself watched the midnight box office again.. :P
Definitely will make the movie reviews~~
I got Runaway Bride, Because of Winn Dixie, Little Manhattan, and the Japanese cartoon movie: Totoro.. ^^

So grateful for this day~~
Love You!

My Other "Blah"

Finally, I passed the nervous moment..
It's the moment when I must stand in front of about 25 people, lead a small Praise & Worship at the Sunday School's teacher coaching..
Fyuhh~~
Although I came a bit late and I wrote down the songs on whiteboard with bad handwriting, but surely those things didn't affect me too much..
I already said before, I don't want a small thing ruin every thing..
I do realize I should speak slower..
But it was an automatic response to overcome my nervous..
Okay then, I'll practice my speaking speed and I'll become better and better as time goes by..
Even more, at the coaching, I will come to the front more often for the story telling workshop.. :)

And today, my mom told my Sunday School's teaching partner about our conversation yesterday.. Errr...

This was it..
I told my mom that I can't join my big family celebrating the Chinese New Year's event because of the coaching..
My mom said "Yes you can. We don't have to go to Sunday School and we take the evening service."
I was a little mad at her..
Why I must leave the Sunday School just for the family tradition on Chinese New Year??
I said "I felt pity for my teaching partner. She can't control all the children by herself."
Further more, it continued with some arguments and finished with my agreement to join the event..
I suddenly remembered that since this February, my class will got another new teaching partner..
So if I don't come, there will be still two teacher in my class..

But mom, it really does not necessary to tell her about our arguments..
I was so embarrassed.. >.<

One more..
At the evening service today, the preacher showed us an inspiring video..
A Spanish man named Tony Melendez with no hand can play guitar with his feet..
This is one of his video I found in YouTube..

Sunday Full of Surprises

I woke up late yesterday morning, went to the morning service in hurry (forgot to wear my watch, forgot to bring my hairpin (didn't feel comfortable if I'm not wearing it -,-"), brushed my hair in the car, must moved my provider card from BB to my old phone coz my BB was out of battery (it took times enough)..

At the church, I met my "rarely see" cousins (husband and wife)..
They went to my church to accompany my other cousin (from the same family w/ them) who had to be there to play organ for the morning service..
I just realized that the wife is pregnant..
She's going to birth her baby three and a half month more...
Can't wait to see the new comer in my big family!! >O<

Then I went to Sunday School.. (the place is not in my church.. It takes about 5 minutes if I go there by foot from church..)
It was my turn to be the keyboardist at the service and I played smoothly enough (Thx Dad :))..
After the service over, all the teachers and the kids entered their own classroom..
I myself teach the kindergarten class...
That Sunday class was noisy as always..
It because one of my children suffers a kind of disorder..
He doesn't listen carefully to our (me and my teaching partner) words..
Instead, he enjoys "his own world" and that makes other children can't concentrate to the Bible story..
But yesterday, everything was under control... (never bored to say thanks to Daddy JC.. :))

Afterward, once again I played keyboard for the Sunday School teacher's fellowship that lead by my dad..
The keyboard was replaced with the one from upstairs (which usually played for the 2nd grade and above)..
I never play that keyboard before, so I was so confused every time I must play the next song.. (I got to change the setting: the rhythm style and the tempo..)
Thanks to Ka Adhi for helping me with this one.. :)

Next activity, I went to Sunday School teacher's coaching at GKI Gunung Sahari..
That day's material was how to make "purpose of the studying"..
Actually, at my Sunday School, I don't have to make it coz it already written in our guide book named Suluh Sekolah Minggu..
However, I have to learn it coz I got a paper that must be done as our final exam..
At the end of the coaching, they pronounced the worship leader for next week..
It is from my church.. >__<
Why it is so fast??
Or it just my feeling??
Just so you know, my church has already got turn to be the worship leader..
That includes preparing snack and drink for all the participants..
It was me preparing the consume and my partner who did the worship leader..
It's just the two of us~~
So this time, I have to be the worship leader and she prepares the consume..

Am I ready, Dad??
"Yes you are", said Daddy..
"That's why I choose you", He added..
But I don't feel like I'm ready.. How, how??
Haaahh~~
Just prepare me oh Lord..
Make the best of what happens next...
Whatever it is~~ :)

Be Honest, No Matter What

I like this picture! :D (taken from here)

Sometimes we feel too scared to face the truth..
As many bad things that would happen next suddenly come into our mind,,
then we choose to compose our own "truth" version and say a lie...
I don't want to be a hypocrite..
I myself have lied to others..

Why do I write this topic??
It because some events that just happened...
It's the two new nurse that I've been telling you in some of my previous posts..

First is Granny's newest nurse.. (read this)
Two days ago,, my parents asked for her identity card (KTP)..
She said that her KTP is held by her foundation's owner..
That is unreasonable..
What for does the foundation's owner hold her KTP??
So my mom informed my oldest aunt and my aunt called the foundation's owner,, Ms. Poppy...
Ms. Poppy seemed startled when she heard that..
She explained that this nurse's wallet was stolen and her KTP also lost..

Today my oldest aunt came to my house with my other aunt and uncle..
They went back home a few minutes ago..
My aunt and my mom already asked the nurse why she lied to us...
She answered "I was scared madam would send me back if I'm telling the truth.. I thought if madam knows that I don't have any identity card,, madam won't hire me again.."
Huff~~
I have gotten shocked when I heard that artless person (in my opinion) could tell a lie about this simple thing..
I just didn't get the point why she must lie to us..
So that's the reason..
She's being so narrow minded~~

The other event that happened this morning is the other nurse whom left her bag in my house.. (read this)
She came to my house again to take back her bag..
Looks like my aunt really meant what she said (that the nurse must come by herself to take her bag)..
She scolded the nurse..
The point that my aunt tried to tell her was "Honesty is all needed.. Other people won't hire you if they knew you have done thing like this.."

Yesterday,, I also joined my church's Sunday School teaching preparation..
The speaker is Pdt. Dede Soerja Moeljana..
I was so inspired by her life testimony..
One thing she told us was about HONESTY..
She told us about her struggle to be honest to every body in every moments and places...

She told how Daddy JC always shows His miraculous work every time she does it..
I was amazed~~

Who told us that being honest is easy?!
It is NOT,, in fact..
Why not??

Because the world (our world) is not in the "straight path" anymore...
If we do the "straight path",, we will "collide" continuously..
But if we don't want to take the risk,, we will never feel His helping hands in our life..
And I really don't want to lose that precious thing~~
How about you??

Be honest, no matter what and you'll be pleasantly surprised at what happens next.
You will be fully grateful by doing it.. :)

I'm Yours

What a busy day...
But I'm glad it's Sunday.. :)
This morning I went to the Sunday School,,
meeting my dearest children ^^,,
continue with the election for new Sunday School's chairman which had no result at all -,-",,
then the Sunday School teacher coaching at GKI Gunung Sahari,,
and finally the evening service at my church...
I got home approximately at 7 PM..
Feels a little tired~~ (Not "very" coz I was sleeping during my way to the coaching.. :P)

Now I wanna share this evening preach I heard..
The preacher said today we commemorate the day when Jesus Christ were baptized..
As usual,, the Bible's readings are taken from 4 source..
From the Old Testament,, Psalms,, New Testament,, and from the Gospel (Mathew/Mark/Luke/John)..
I really like the reading text from Old Testament today..

It was taken from Isaiah 43: 1-7..
1 But now, this is what the LORD says -- He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine.
2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.
6 I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth-
7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
Mark the second verse~~ Cool!!
Because He owns us,, so..
  1. He always and will always by our side (no matter what's happening),,
  2. we are so precious in His eyes,,
  3. we always have HOPE in Him..
I know I can always count on You.. :)
